Asterix the Gaul 1967


Before you panic, this is the English version, not the French.

After a brief introduction to the principal characters, the film follows Asterix as he encounters a group of Roman legionaries in the forest. Despite being significantly outnumbered, Asterix leaves the Romans beaten and bruised for daring to interrupt his wild boar hunt. Their state upon their return to camp prompts the leader Phonus Balonus to seek the secret behind the Gauls' seemingly superhuman strength.

Asterix and Cleopatra 1968,


Caesar puts Cleopatra's nose out of joint [and what a pretty nose she has] when he teases her saying that Egypt now has merely her past glory to rest upon.

Infuriated by his remarks, she says she'll prove that Egypt is still a technological leader by building him a palace in three months.

Now, what could this possibly have to do with our friends in far away Gaul?

The Twelve Tasks of Asterix, 1976


After a group of legionaries is beaten up by the gauls, they imagine: "With such huge strength, they can't be human... they must be gods". Julius Caesar is informed, and laughs. He makes a decision with his council and goes to Armorica, to speak with Vitalstatistix. He gives the Gauls a series of 12 tasks, inspired by Hercules (but new ones, since the 12 Labours are outdated). Vitalstatistix assembles their best warriors, Asterix and Obelix, to do the job. The Roman Caius Tiddlus is sent along with them to guide them and check they complete each task.

Asterix in Britain, 1986


Asterix in Britain, released in 1986; was the fifth and the last Asterix feature film from Dargaud Films.

Based on the book of the same name, it has the diminutive Asterix and his rather larger companion Obelix, warriors of the last village in Gaul still free after the Roman invasion, set out on a mission to deliver a barrel of their druid's famous magic potion to help Asterix's cousin in Britain fight off the invading Roman army.

Asterix and the Big Fight, 1989


The Romans plan to capture Getafix to keep him from making the magic potion. In an effort to rescue him, Obelix accidentally puts Getafix out of action with a menhir, the impact of which causes amnesia and insanity.

Asterix in America 1994


During a brawl in their Gallic village, the magic potion that gives the heroes Asterix and Obelix their superhuman power tips over. Before the druid Getafix can make another brew, the Romans capture him and catapult him into space from their galley at the edge of the word. They believe the earth is flat.

Asterix and Obelix set out after Getafix. They end up in America, where Indians, who already hold Getafix prisoner, capture Asterix. The medicine man has designs on their magic potion and Getafix has to use every trick in the book to protect its secret formula.

The three Gauls finally escape from the Indians and on their return home find their village burned to the ground and its inhabitants abducted. Our heroes free their friends, tear the Roman camp apart and send Caesar on his merry way.

Asterix and the Vikings, 2006


After another raid in an empty village, the chief of the Vikings Timandahaf misunderstands the explanation of his advisor Cryptograf that "fear gives wings to the dwellers" and believes that fear actually makes the villagers fly. They decide to chase the champion of fear in Gaul to learn how to fly and make them invincible warriors.

Meanwhile, the nephew of Vitalstatistix, Justforkix, is sent from Parisium to the Gaulish village to become a man and Asterix and Obelix are assigned to train the youngster. The stupid son of Cryptograf, Olaf, listens to a conversation of the coward Justforkix with Asterix and Obelix and kidnaps him. While returning to the Viking village, Justforkix meets Abba, the daughter of Timandahaf, and they fall in love for each other. But the Machiavellian and ambitious Cryptograf plan to marry his son Olaf with Abba and become powerful.

See how the Vikings really learn the meaning of FEAR, in the end!

Oh, by the way, if you're worried about the poster being in French, don't let that bother you. I couldn't get an English Poster that was good.

The movie is entirely dubbed in English!
